How do we get there?

Cabarete Beach is a 20 minute cab ride ($30 US) from Puerto Plata’s Gregorio Luperon Airport (POP). This is the ideal airport to fly into. If you are unable to fly into Puerto Plata, you can also consider flying into Cibao International Airport in Santiago (STI), which is a picturesque 1-1/2 hour drive by car.

Flying from USA

There are relatively inexpensive daily direct flights to Puerto Plata from Miami on American Airlines, and from Atlanta on Delta Airlines. Continental Airlines also offers direct flights from several cities.

Flying from Europe

Several major carriers operate daily flights from Europe into Puerto Plata - these include Air France, Air Portugal, Balair, Condor, Hapag Lloyd, Iberia, Lauda Air and LTU. Also there are many charter airlines operating from Europe. Many of these airlines fly directly into Puerto Plata International Airport (POP): Air 2000, Air Europe, Britania, Finnair, Leisure Air, Malev Air, Spanair and Sobelair.

Flying from Canada

The charter airlines, Air Transat and Air Canada Vacation, fly into Puerto Plata

Flying from South America

Unfortunately there are no direct flights from South America into Puerto Plata International Airport. Most often you will need to fly via Miami, USA, or San Juan, Puerto Rico. Most of these flights are operated by American Airlines and American Eagle.

What is there in the way of accommodation?

Cabarete offers a vast selection of accommodation from very inexpensive apartments starting at around $40 US, to exclusive beach front condos

Are there any special deals for competitors?

The Cabarete Classic is working to secure special deals with local hotels specifically for our competitors. Please contact us at cabarete_classic@yahoo.com or call us at 809-876-6003 for more information.

What is there in the way of dining and restaurants?

One of the most appealing aspects to Cabarete is the vast selection of beachfront restaurants whose tables are set out on the beach under stunning palm leaf canopies. You can literally walk out of your condo, directly onto the beach and walk barefoot a couple of hundred yards to a selection beautiful casual and fine dining. Prices range from $8 meals to $30 meals.

All major liquor and beer brands are available including the popular local Dominican beer Presidente, and remember that the great tasting local Rum is almost as cheap as water, making mixed drinks very affordable.
